**AS maintains a commanding lead in recent polling for the October 3 Saeima election, reflecting its position as the largest party in the current four-party coalition government.** Andris Kulbergs of the United List (AS) became prime minister in late May 2026 after the prior coalition collapsed amid disputes over defense policy and stray drones. This caretaker administration, supported by New Unity, the Union of Greens and Farmers, and National Alliance, has sustained AS at the top of surveys conducted through late August, with shares notably higher than competitors such as Suverēnā Vara, the Progressives, and Latvia First. No major late-campaign developments have altered these standings in the final month before voting.
