Clear skies and light northerly winds under high pressure are driving Seattle's afternoon temperatures toward a daily high in the low to mid-70s on September 16, 2026. Official National Weather Service guidance and multiple model runs converge on a peak near 72–73°F, modestly above the 1991–2020 September average high of 70.6°F, with current readings at Sea-Tac and downtown stations already reaching 72°F by mid-afternoon. The absence of cloud cover or marine layer intrusion allows efficient solar heating, while minimal wind shear limits cooling. Trader consensus heavily favors the 74–75°F bin (71.5% implied probability) over 72–73°F (25%), reflecting slight upward bias in recent observations or ensemble spread that could push the official maximum one degree higher before sunset. Updated NWS briefings and final hourly readings will resolve the market.
