The open Charlesbourg seat, vacated by retiring CAQ incumbent Jonatan Julien, has produced a competitive three-way contest among PQ candidate Gabriel Coulombe, CPQ candidate Éloïse Coulombe, and CAQ candidate Marie-Josée Morency ahead of the October 5 election. Recent provincial polling aggregates show PQ support leading overall but fragmented in the Quebec City region, where CPQ and residual CAQ strength create narrow margins in models projecting roughly even chances among the top three. Nomination filings closed in mid-September with limited additional entrants, while local priorities such as housing costs, mobility infrastructure, and regional economic development have featured in candidate messaging without shifting the balance. Trader pricing aligns with these toss-up dynamics, where modest changes in turnout among older voters or late campaign events could alter the outcome.
