**PL holds a narrow lead in trader consensus at 56% for the largest bloc in Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies after the October 4 election, with UPB close behind at 43.9%.** The tight presidential race between incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro of the Liberal Party (PL) has sharpened partisan alignment in legislative voting. Recent polling shows the runoff essentially tied, with Flávio Bolsonaro closing ground amid Supreme Court controversies that have energized conservative voters. PL, the party carrying the Bolsonaro family banner, benefits from this national polarization and its existing 98-seat caucus. UPB, the current largest federation with roughly 98 seats after the União Brasil–Progressistas merger, maintains a strong centrist-right organizational base but faces headwinds from the right-wing surge. Smaller parties trail far behind, reflecting the dominance of the two main poles. The simultaneous presidential and congressional ballots amplify coattail effects, with turnout and swing-state dynamics likely decisive in the final seat distribution.
