Recent Met Office and NOAA-aligned forecasts for London on September 21, 2026, show a high-pressure system (around 1032 hPa) delivering mostly sunny skies, light variable winds under 3 mph, and minimal cloud cover, supporting peak surface heating to 22–23 °C. Official guidance lists a maximum of 23 °C, consistent with hourly model runs projecting afternoon temperatures reaching that level before cooling after 5 pm. This aligns with the market’s heavy weighting toward 22 °C (57 %) and 23 °C (29.5 %), as traders incorporate the consensus from current model ensembles while noting small upside risk from localized urban heat or slight forecast revisions. Historical September baselines for the region average near 19–20 °C, underscoring the mild warm anomaly driving the implied probabilities. Updated agency briefings later today could refine exact maxima and shift odds if insolation or wind patterns change.
