The contest for second place in Ceará's October 4 Senate election stays tight because recent polls from Datafolha, Quaest, and Ipsos-Ipec place Luizianne Lins and Capitão Wagner within the margin of error behind frontrunner Cid Gomes, with both drawing 13-24% in consolidated two-vote scenarios. Luizianne's early-August confirmation on the Elmano de Freitas ticket alongside Cid has consolidated left-leaning support within the Ceará Forte coalition, while Wagner draws opposition and conservative voters through the União Brasil slate. High undecided shares (often 10-20%) and voters' ability to split tickets between the two vacancies sustain the narrow gap, with Alcides Fernandes and minor candidates far behind. Late shifts in turnout among swing municipalities or coalition messaging could separate the top contenders before election day.
