The Quebec general election campaign, called for October 5, 2026, features a competitive race in Maskinongé between Coalition Avenir Québec incumbent Simon Allaire and Parti Québécois candidate Isabelle Blais. Recent seat projections updated in early September show the PQ leading in projected vote share, reflecting broader shifts in voter sentiment during the campaign period that began in late August. Allaire, who initially indicated he would not seek another term, was persuaded to run again, while Blais secured her party nomination earlier in the spring with strong local support as a recognizable figure with regional ties. Minor-party candidates from the Liberals, Québec solidaire, and Conservatives register minimal projected support. Trader pricing aligns with these polling trends and the riding’s recent electoral history as a former CAQ stronghold now appearing more contested.
