Jasmine Clark secured the Democratic nomination for Georgia’s 13th Congressional District in the May 2026 primary following the April death of longtime incumbent David Scott, defeating a crowded field with 56 percent of the vote. The suburban Atlanta district has consistently delivered large Democratic majorities in recent cycles, and Republican nominee Jonathan Chavez faces the same structural headwinds that limited his 2024 performance. Race ratings from multiple forecasters classify the seat as safe or solid Democratic. Traders have priced Clark’s victory at 96.9 percent, reflecting the district’s partisan baseline and the absence of competitive opposition or recent polling shifts that would alter the outlook. A major scandal, health event, or unforeseen redistricting change before November 3 remains the primary pathway that could narrow the margin, though none have materialized to date.
