Brazil’s National Data Protection Agency (ANPD) ordered Discord to suspend live streaming, screen sharing, and equivalent video features nationwide in mid-August 2026 after a 13-year-old’s death during a coercive livestream sparked child-safety investigations under the Digital Child and Adolescent Statute. The platform complied with the targeted restrictions while keeping text, voice, and server access intact, though recent reports show workarounds still functioning and prompted ANPD warnings of daily fines. A separate BRL 500 million collective-damages lawsuit and public calls from officials for broader action have kept regulatory scrutiny high, yet no full nationwide block has occurred. Traders are watching compliance filings, ANPD appeals outcomes, and any new incidents that could escalate toward outright platform suspension.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if use of Discord is banned within Brazil through a nationwide, legally effective government or court order and such ban is publicly confirmed between market creation and September 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".
A legally-effective nationwide court order requiring either the temporary suspension of Discord’s activities in Brazil or a prohibition on Discord operating in Brazil will qualify as a ban for the purposes of this market, regardless of whether technical implementation of the order has been completed.
An order that is stayed, suspended, or overturned before taking legal effect will not qualify. If a qualifying order takes legal effect, a subsequent stay, suspension, or reversal will not affect the market's resolution.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Brazilian government, courts and Discord, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
