Silver (XAG/USD) trades near $66 per ounce in late September 2026 after recovering from a mid-month dip below $63, supported by a pullback in 10-year Treasury yields toward 4.93% following the Federal Reserve’s quarter-point rate hike to the 3.75-4.00% target range. Hawkish Fed communications and firmer real yields have capped upside, while persistent structural deficits of roughly 46 million ounces and moderating photovoltaic demand due to thrifting exert countervailing pressure. Industrial fabrication remains sensitive to electronics and solar trends, with gold correlations and dollar strength providing additional near-term drivers. Traders are monitoring subsequent economic releases and any further policy signals for resolution of September price extremes.
