Helder Barbalho (MDB) holds a commanding lead in the Pará Senate race for first place, backed by consistent polling advantages across recent surveys from institutes such as AtlasIntel, Real Time, and Quaest. As the former two-term governor who resigned to run, he benefits from high name recognition, a broad coalition under “O Pará Tá Junto,” and strong first-preference support often exceeding 30-45% in simulated ballots, far ahead of rivals like Delegado Éder Mauro (PL) and Zequinha Marinho (Podemos). Recent developments include an Electoral Public Ministry opinion recommending ineligibility over alleged improper continuation of gubernatorial activities post-disengagement, with his candidacy still pending judicial review ahead of the October 4 vote. Traders appear to discount major disruption to his frontrunner status given the margin and structural advantages.
