The tight contest for first place in Paraná’s Senate race reflects a fragmented field where recent polls show technical ties among Alexandre Curi (Republicanos), Deltan Dallagnol (Novo), Filipe Barros (PL), and Gleisi Hoffmann (PT), with high undecided shares and right-wing vote splitting limiting separation. Curi benefits from state assembly leadership and municipal networks, while Dallagnol’s profile draws anti-corruption support; Barros aligns with broader conservative tickets, and Hoffmann consolidates left-leaning preferences. The most recent catalyst is the TRE-PR’s 4-3 approval of Dallagnol’s candidacy on September 8, removing a key eligibility hurdle and potentially consolidating his base ahead of the October 4 vote. Trader consensus prices these four ahead of lower-polling names because sustained polling averages and campaign alignments have not yet produced a clear frontrunner.
