**Eurozone annual HICP inflation for 2026 is priced with an 81.3% probability of finishing at 3.1% or higher.** Recent August 2026 data showed headline inflation rising to 3.3% year-over-year from 2.9% in July, driven primarily by a sharp increase in energy prices to 14.3% amid the Middle East conflict. Eurosystem staff projections from June 2026 placed the annual average at 3.0%, with quarterly peaks near 3.4% in the second half of the year, while the ECB Survey of Professional Forecasters held at 2.7%. Persistent geopolitical pressures on energy and food costs, alongside limited second-round effects so far, underpin the market-implied odds favoring the higher outcome, with the ECB’s September 10 policy decision and upcoming data releases as key near-term catalysts.
