Eric Flores, the Republican nominee and Trump-endorsed former federal prosecutor who defeated Mayra Flores in the March primary, faces a redrawn district stretching from Brownsville to Corpus Christi that rates as a toss-up by Cook Political Report and Sabato's Crystal Ball. Recent Texas Southern University polling shows Gonzalez ahead by just three points within the margin of error, while Flores has narrowed gaps through aggressive spending and outreach to Latino voters. Key variables include turnout among South Texas Hispanics, economic concerns over housing and groceries, and any late national shifts before November 3.
