This market will resolve according to the party of the candidate who wins the NJ-07 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026. A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).Rebecca Bennett leads trader consensus in the NJ-07 House race at 76.5% implied probability, reflecting the impact of incumbent Thomas Kean Jr.’s extended absence from Congress between March and late June 2026 due to a depression diagnosis and hospitalization. The district, which narrowly favored Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in 2024, has flipped in recent midterms, and Kean’s prolonged withdrawal from legislative activity and public appearances elevated the seat’s profile as a Democratic target. Bennett, a former Navy helicopter pilot who won her June primary decisively, has maintained strong fundraising momentum and released general election ads emphasizing military service, ethics, and policy priorities such as AI regulation. Recent independent expenditure ads have also highlighted Kean’s voting record on gun policy and law enforcement funding, sustaining pressure on the Republican incumbent ahead of the November ballot.
