The crowded field of declared candidates for the October 9-10 first round, including Ségolène Royal, Philippe Brun, Olivier Faure, Raphaël Glucksmann, Jérôme Guedj and Emmanuel Maurel, has produced fragmented trader pricing for second place. Formal applications close on September 15, and recent PS-Place publique tensions over debate formats and potential inclusion of figures such as François Ruffin have kept momentum fluid without consolidating support behind any single contender. Electronic voting limited to verified members and sympathizers further disperses preferences across regional and ideological bases. Separation could emerge from last-minute endorsements, televised debates or clearer polling signals on second preferences before voting begins.
