Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads trader assessments for Quebec’s next premier, reflecting the Parti Québécois’ sustained polling edge among francophone voters and favorable first-past-the-post seat projections ahead of the October 5 election. His consistent positioning on sovereignty, including a pledge to pursue a referendum even in a minority government, has anchored support despite economic uncertainty from U.S. tariffs. Incumbent Christine Fréchette of the Coalition Avenir Québec trails after assuming the premiership in April 2026, as the party contends with legacy unpopularity and voter focus on affordability and health care. Charles Milliard of the Quebec Liberal Party and other leaders register minimal implied probabilities, underscoring limited paths to a majority or plurality in the National Assembly.
