Recent National Weather Service forecasts indicate a minimum temperature in the upper 50s for San Francisco on September 22, driven by a deepening marine layer under southwest flow and lingering effects from a passing cut-off low that has kept overnight readings near 57°F in recent days. This pattern favors the market's leading 58-59°F bin as traders weigh model consensus on modest nocturnal cooling before a ridge builds and compresses the marine layer later in the week. Historical September lows average near 56°F, with recent observations showing limited overnight drops due to persistent cloud cover and onshore winds, though any faster clearing could push readings toward 60°F. Updated NWS briefings and next model runs remain key near-term catalysts for shifts in these implied probabilities.
