Chung Tung-chin holds a commanding lead in the Miaoli County magistrate race as the incumbent KMT candidate seeking reelection on November 28. Recent polls show his approval ratings at 75 percent or higher, with satisfaction exceeding 80 percent in tourism, social welfare, agriculture, and healthcare, reflecting sustained support for his focus on debt reduction, infrastructure, and local economic growth. Broad endorsements from KMT figures, including party chair Cheng Li-wen, former magistrates, legislators, and Taiwan People’s Party representatives have reinforced unity among pan-blue voters in this traditionally KMT-leaning county. DPP nominee Chen Pin-an, a sitting county councilor, faces structural challenges with limited visibility and no significant competing pan-blue entries. Trader consensus at 90.3 percent for Chung aligns with these incumbency and performance factors, though late shifts in turnout or unforeseen developments before election day could still influence the final result.
