Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to overnight lows in the low to mid-70s for Atlanta on September 11, driven by persistent southerly flow from the Gulf of Mexico that maintains high humidity and limits radiational cooling under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected Friday afternoon and evening, tied to a developing low-pressure system, add cloud cover that further moderates minimum temperatures while keeping them well above seasonal normals near 67°F. This setup explains the strong market weighting toward 72–75°F ranges, with residual uncertainty from storm timing and intensity allowing smaller probabilities on cooler outliers. Updated NWS briefings and evening model runs will refine these projections ahead of resolution.
