Official National Weather Service forecasts for New York City project an upper-80s high today, driven by westerly winds, gradual clearing after morning clouds, and above-average late-summer warmth that exceeds the 78°F climatological norm. This underpins the market's tight split between 88-89°F (42.5%) and 86-87°F (39%), reflecting uncertainty in peak timing amid possible light showers, variable cloud cover, and northwest wind shifts that could cap or boost readings by a degree or two. Real-time station data from Central Park and model updates through afternoon will resolve the exact maximum.
