Imelda Castro Castro holds an 86.5% implied probability in the Sinaloa governor race as Morena’s designated state coordinator for the 2027 contest, following her August 2026 selection by national party leadership after an internal process with over a dozen aspirants. This positioning stems from her Senate tenure, alignment with federal priorities under President Sheinbaum, and efforts to distance from the prior administration’s legal issues involving former governor Rubén Rocha Moya. The June 6, 2027, election date and Morena’s structural advantages in the state further support trader consensus around her path. Lower-probability names such as Juan de Dios Gámez Mendívil (3.2%) and others reflect limited traction outside the party’s preferred channel, with no major recent shifts reported in polling or endorsements that would alter the current distribution.
