If the information is not released by that time, this market will resolve according to the figures of the most recent previous month with available data.Recent energy price rebounds amid Middle East tensions have lifted gasoline costs after July declines, while food prices show modest acceleration, driving consensus forecasts for August headline CPI to center on a 0.3–0.4% month-over-month rise from the prior 0.1% print. Trader positioning on Polymarket reflects this, with the 0.4% outcome holding the highest implied probability at 51.5% as services and shelter components remain sticky despite softening core goods. Year-over-year inflation is expected to hold near 3.4%, above the Fed’s 2% target, with core CPI forecasts clustered around 0.2%. The September 11 release arrives ahead of the FOMC meeting, keeping focus on whether energy-driven upside risks outweigh goods disinflation.
