Persistent northeasterly winds and extensive cloud cover from a stalled frontal boundary are suppressing daytime heating across the Chicago area, with National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models projecting a Tuesday high of 61–64 °F. This cool, stable pattern—marked by onshore flow off Lake Michigan and limited solar insolation—keeps readings well below late-September normals. Minor differences among model solutions in the exact timing of partial clearing and wind gusts create the narrow spread reflected in market-implied odds, with the 60–63 °F bins capturing the bulk of consensus. Updated NWS point forecasts and next model cycles will further narrow the likely peak temperature ahead of resolution.
