Recent polling data shows President Trump's job approval hovering in the mid-to-high 30s percent range across major surveys released in mid-September 2026, with some trackers like Rasmussen reporting 42 percent amid minor week-to-week fluctuations. Lingering effects from the Iran conflict, elevated gas prices, and broader economic pressures have contributed to the subdued levels, while approaching midterm elections add visibility to partisan divides. Trader consensus reflected in the 65.5 percent implied probability for an uptick this week appears driven by the potential for short-term volatility in daily or weekly tracking polls, historical patterns of modest rebounds after lows, and any positive developments in economic indicators or diplomatic signals that could register quickly in public sentiment measures.
