Charlie Hatcher holds a strong lead in the Tennessee 5th Congressional District race due to the district's Republican tilt following recent redistricting that shifted its composition toward rural and agricultural areas with a partisan voter index favoring the GOP. Hatcher, the former state agriculture commissioner, secured the Republican nomination in the August primary by defeating incumbent Andy Ogles, boosting his visibility among key farming communities. Chaz Molder, Columbia mayor and Democratic nominee, trails despite a recent Blue Dog endorsement and agreement on debates, with internal and Democratic-commissioned polls showing Hatcher ahead by single digits amid low undecided voters. Forecasters rate the seat Solid or Safe Republican ahead of the November general election, reflecting the structural barriers for Democrats in the redrawn boundaries.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
