Current National Weather Service and NOAA model guidance points to overnight lows in the mid-70s for Austin on September 22, aligning with market-implied odds clustered around 72–77°F. Persistent high pressure and southerly flow have maintained above-normal temperatures and humidity, limiting radiational cooling despite light winds and partly cloudy skies. A weak cold front has triggered storms farther north but shows limited southward penetration, keeping central Texas under warm advection. Historical September averages near 66°F contrast with this season’s elevated baseline, while ensemble spreads highlight modest uncertainty from variable cloud cover and moisture. Updated model runs and NWS briefings ahead of the overnight period will refine the exact minimum.
