Rich McCormick holds a commanding position in Georgia’s 7th congressional district due to its consistent Republican lean, reflected in a Partisan Voter Index around R+11 and the incumbent’s 29-point victory in 2024. As a sitting representative with no Republican primary opposition, McCormick benefits from established name recognition, substantial fundraising, and a record of district-focused events such as job fairs and federal funding announcements. Democrat Tony Kozycki, a first-time candidate and Navy veteran who emerged from a June 2026 primary runoff, faces structural headwinds including lower campaign resources and limited prior electoral profile. Trader consensus at these levels aligns with historical base rates for safe Republican seats, though late-cycle developments like national political shifts, turnout surges among Democratic-leaning voters, or unforeseen candidate issues could narrow margins within the resolution window before November 3.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
