Incumbent Paul Lefebvre holds a dominant position in the Greater Sudbury mayoral race ahead of the October 26 vote, reflecting his established record as mayor since 2022 and former federal MP. Traders price his re-election prospects highest due to visible momentum from population gains nearing 192,000, job growth, and housing unit permits issued under his administration, which he highlighted at his September 9 campaign launch using the slogan “Together, making good things happen.” A September 19 debate focused on homelessness and affordable housing, where Lefebvre defended city initiatives including transitional units and a HART hub, while challengers such as Miranda Rocca-Circelli, Bob Johnston, Troy Crowder, Joseph Boutros, and others presented limited profiles or lower visibility. No major shifts or controversies have altered the consensus in recent weeks.
