Official National Weather Service observations from Central Park and surrounding NYC stations recorded a minimum temperature of 70–71°F on September 9, 2026, aligning with above-normal warmth driven by southerly flow and limited nocturnal cooling under partly cloudy skies. This outcome sits well above the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 63.8°F and recent prior days that dipped to 61–62°F. Market-implied odds exceeding 99% for the 70–71°F bin reflect traders’ confidence in verified station data and resolution criteria tied to official daily minimums. Scenarios that could have altered this include stronger radiational cooling under clear, calm conditions or a late frontal passage, though none materialized in the final 24-hour period.
