The open seat in Louis-Hébert, vacated by longtime CAQ MNA Geneviève Guilbault, has produced a competitive race ahead of the October 5 Quebec election. Trader consensus favors CAQ candidate Marc-Antoine Bernier at 51 percent amid projections showing the party retaining a narrow edge in this Capitale-Nationale riding, while PQ candidate Chloé Fauchon sits at 29.5 percent. Provincial polling indicates the PQ leads overall, yet the CAQ maintains stronger regional support in Quebec City suburbs, where Conservative support also registers. The tight spread reflects an open contest between an experienced journalist-turned-candidate for the CAQ and opposition challengers, with limited time remaining before the September 17 nomination deadline and scheduled leaders’ debates that could shift momentum through turnout or regional issue focus.
