James Talarico holds an 88% implied probability of winning Tarrant County in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate race, reflecting recent polling trends that show the Democrat building support in suburban areas previously favoring Republicans. Statewide surveys from September, including a Marist poll, place Talarico ahead of Ken Paxton by six points overall, driven by double-digit leads among independents and strong performance with Hispanic voters. Private polling in overlapping districts such as State Senate District 9, which covers parts of Tarrant County, indicates a 28-point swing toward Talarico compared with 2024 presidential results. Paxton’s 10% odds align with his lower fundraising totals and ongoing challenges consolidating support after defeating incumbent John Cornyn in the Republican primary. Multiple minor candidates and “other” options sit at 50%, consistent with limited evidence of competitive strength in the county. Early voting begins in October, leaving room for further shifts before November 3.
