Mat Siscoe holds a commanding lead in the St. Catharines mayoral market as the incumbent seeking a second term on October 26. He captured nearly 69 percent of the vote in 2022 after multiple terms on city council and regional roles, including chair of the Niagara Transit Commission and Niagara Regional Housing Board. Traders cite his record of restrained property tax growth, creation of the SCORE nonprofit support fund, and recent handling of July-August flooding that prompted a state of emergency and calls for senior government aid. The remaining candidates—Anthony A. Adeoye, Ann-Marie Zammit, Jimmy Jackson, and Henry Bosch—registered by the August 21 deadline but lack comparable elected experience or broad name recognition, leaving little evidence of a sustained challenge. Late developments such as major scandals or health issues could still alter outcomes before election day.
