Tito-Dante Marimpietri holds the leading trader consensus at 64.5% for the October 26, 2026 Oshawa mayoral election, ahead of Jim Lee at 35.5% and a field of other registered candidates including Derek Giberson, Henry Onwuachu, and several lower-profile entrants. Marimpietri filed first on May 1 as the sole candidate after incumbent Dan Carter declined to seek a third term, drawing on more than two decades of council service focused on economic development, defence sector growth, and infrastructure. Multiple sitting councillors entered the race in June, fragmenting opposition support and reinforcing Marimpietri’s positioning as the experienced frontrunner in the nine-candidate field. Recent campaign activity, including meet-and-greets and platform emphasis on affordability and safety, has not materially altered the market’s assessment of vote consolidation around the early entrant.
