This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Oregon. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Oregon, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Oregon's all-mail voting system and recent state investments in expanded drop boxes, ballot tracking, and voter roll maintenance support solid participation ahead of the November 3 general election. The concurrent gubernatorial contest between Democratic incumbent Tina Kotek and Republican Christine Drazan adds a competitive top-of-ticket draw absent from the low-salience Senate matchup between incumbent Democrat Jeff Merkley and Republican David Brock Smith. Record primary turnout of 41.9% in May, driven by a gas tax measure and GOP gubernatorial interest, provides a positive baseline, though midterm general election rates have historically ranged from the low 60s percent of registered voters. With roughly 3.1 million registered voters and ongoing population growth in urban areas, these elements keep projected totals clustered across mid-range bins while leaving room for shifts from final registration trends, late campaign intensity, or national conditions.
