Recent August ISM Services PMI strength at 55.4, exceeding consensus by more than a point amid accelerated new orders and business activity, has shaped trader positioning for the September reading due October 5. Market-implied odds cluster tightly in the mid-50s, with the 54.0-54.9 bin holding the highest share at 32 percent, reflecting expectations of partial moderation toward the 12-month average near 53.7 after summer momentum. Persistent price pressures near 72.6 and continued employment contraction in services temper upside bets, while resilient demand and inventory rebuilding support a floor above 54. Key swing factors include September labor-market and inflation prints that could shift the Fed policy path and broader risk sentiment ahead of resolution.
