Fort Bend County's diverse suburban demographics and recent polling trends position Democrat James Talarico as the strong favorite to carry the area in the November 2026 Texas U.S. Senate contest. The county sits within the Houston metro region, where Talarico has shown consistent strength in surveys breaking down support by geography, including leads among Hispanic voters and independents. Statewide polls through mid-September show the overall race in a near tie or narrow Talarico edge, yet his fundraising edge and consolidation among Democratic-leaning voters amplify expectations for county-level dominance. Republican Ken Paxton draws firmer backing from rural and East Texas areas, leaving him with limited projected margins in Fort Bend despite his primary victory over incumbent John Cornyn. Minor candidates and write-ins remain long shots given the two-party focus.
