The 2026 Prince George, British Columbia mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 17, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Prince George, British Columbia as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Prince George, British Columbia. The closely matched odds among Kyle Sampson, Simon Yu, and Garth Frizzell reflect a competitive non-partisan race for Prince George mayor, where two sitting councillors with strong recent electoral support are challenging the incumbent. Sampson and Frizzell each secured high vote totals in prior council contests, while Yu won the 2022 mayoralty in a fragmented field. With nominations closed on September 11 and general voting set for October 17, traders appear to weigh candidates' local government experience, positions on public safety, economic development tied to northern resource industries, and ability to build voter coalitions. Additional declared candidates such as Roy Stewart add further fragmentation, sustaining uncertainty until advance voting and final campaign developments clarify preferences.
