Matt Damon leads trader sentiment at 26.5% implied probability for the 2027 Best Actor Oscar, fueled by his physically demanding lead turn as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s summer blockbuster *The Odyssey*, which delivered major box office and early Academy screenings praising its emotional depth. John Malkovich (19.6%) and Andrew Scott (19.0%) sit close behind following strong Venice and Telluride buzz for *Wild Horse Nine* and *Elsinore*, respectively, while Tom Cruise (15.5%) benefits from Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s direction on *Digger* and a long-running “first Oscar” narrative. The wide field remains fluid this early, with lower-priced contenders like Robert Pattinson and Jeremy Strong awaiting further festival reactions, guild precursors, and year-end critical consensus to shift momentum ahead of January nominations.
