This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 Ohio gubernatorial election. A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.Amy Acton leads the Ohio governor race at 55.5% on Polymarket amid a competitive open-seat contest to succeed term-limited Republican Mike DeWine. Both nominees secured their party nods easily in the May primaries, with Acton running unopposed as a Democrat and Vivek Ramaswamy winning the Republican primary by a wide margin after securing Trump’s endorsement. Polling averages show a statistical tie or narrow edges for either candidate, reflecting Ohio’s Republican lean offset by Acton’s prior service as state health director and Ramaswamy’s outsider profile. Recent developments include Acton’s campaign declining debate invitations over attack ads, Ramaswamy naming state Sen. Rob McColley as his running mate, and an alleged armed incident targeting Acton at a September 6 campaign event that prompted bipartisan condemnation of political violence. Campaign spending and messaging center on taxes, costs, and Acton’s COVID-era record.
