The 2026 Martin mayoral election is currently scheduled to be held on October 24, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Mayor of Martin as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results as reported by government sources of Martin, Žilina Region and Slovakia, including the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (https://volby.statistics.sk/).The Martin mayoral race for Slovakia’s October 24 municipal elections remains tightly contested due to an open field and uncertain status for incumbent Ján Danko, who has not publicly confirmed a third term as of mid-2026. Opposition parties consolidated early behind Michal Uherčík, who finished second in 2022 and now campaigns on audits, energy savings, and reversing population loss. Multiple independents including Milan Ftorek, Matej Turzo, and others further fragment the vote, while additional candidates such as Renáta Habrunová have entered. With registration deadlines passed and no dominant polling signals yet, trader consensus reflects high uncertainty over whether continuity, opposition unity, or a new independent can secure a majority in the first round.
