Leigh Gray holds a dominant position in the Brighton Council mayoral race ahead of the October 27, 2026, Tasmanian local elections, reflecting her status as the incumbent with established community backing and prior service. Traders have priced this outcome at 83 percent amid a stable candidate field since nominations closed in August, with no major campaign developments or polling shifts reported in the past month that would narrow her lead. Phil Owen, a current councillor listed at 8 percent, trails amid the same limited movement in sentiment. The wide array of other named candidates and the "Other" category, each around 50 percent, underscore a fragmented field where no single alternative has consolidated support to challenge the frontrunner. Resolution depends on official results from the Tasmanian Electoral Commission.
