Steven Del Duca holds a commanding lead in the Vaughan mayoral race as the incumbent seeking re-election on October 26, 2026. His position stems from a record that includes delivering a 2026 municipal budget with no local property tax increase, reductions in development charges to support housing affordability, and ongoing priorities around traffic relief, community safety, and economic growth in York Region. Nominations closed in August with only one other certified candidate, Shelly-Ann Starlette Cerrelli, leaving limited organized opposition and reinforcing trader consensus around the frontrunner. Late developments such as a major scandal, health issue, or significant polling shift in the final weeks could still alter the outcome before advance online voting begins in October.
