The Mississauga mayoral contest on October 26 remains closely contested, with trader odds reflecting the head-to-head dynamic between incumbent Carolyn Parrish and former mayor Bonnie Crombie. A mid-August Liaison Strategies poll showed the pair tied at 35 percent among decided and leaning voters, with councillors Dipika Damerla and Alvin Tedjo trailing at 18 and 12 percent. Crombie’s July entry into the race after her Ontario Liberal leadership bid intensified scrutiny on taxes, housing, spending, and city direction amid a negative public mood. Parrish’s incumbency and provincial backing provide an edge in the fragmented field of 14 candidates, yet undecided voters and debates on affordability and economic pressures tied to tariffs could still shift support before election day.
