Forecast models from the National Weather Service and other agencies indicate a high near 97–99°F for Austin on September 23, with partly cloudy skies, light northeast winds, and only a slight afternoon storm chance supporting the market's leading 96–97°F (56.5%) and 98–99°F (37.5%) bins. These outcomes align with typical late-September climatology under weak high pressure, where daytime heating peaks in the upper 90s before any moisture or cloud cover limits further rise. Heat index values may reach 105–107°F, but official dry-bulb readings determine resolution. Recent model runs show minimal spread, keeping lower-probability tails for 94–95°F or 100°F+ at under 6% each until new observational data arrives.
