Analilia Mejia holds a commanding position as the Democratic incumbent in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District ahead of the November 3 general election. She secured the seat in the April 2026 special election with roughly 60 percent of the vote against Republican Joe Hathaway, building on a surprise primary victory over better-known challengers. The suburban North Jersey district has favored Democrats in recent cycles, including consistent margins for prior officeholders. Hathaway, a local Republican official, has not shown signs of closing the gap in polling or fundraising since the special. Trader consensus at these levels aligns with the structural advantages of incumbency, partisan composition, and limited recent developments that would alter the race trajectory. Late shifts could still occur from national political waves, turnout surges, or unforeseen events before Election Day.
