Official observations from the National Weather Service Central Park station recorded a daily maximum of 84–85°F on September 17, 2026, aligning precisely with the market’s dominant outcome. This value exceeded the 1991–2020 climatological average high of 75.9°F and reflected typical late-summer conditions under a building high-pressure ridge with light winds and minimal cloud cover that allowed strong daytime heating. Trader consensus at 100% for this narrow bin reflects the final verified reading and the low likelihood of post-event revisions, as NWS quality-controlled data rarely shift by more than 1°F after initial reporting. Only an unforeseen station calibration adjustment or redefinition of the “highest temperature” metric could alter resolution, both of which are historically rare for this market.
