US Senator Bernie Moreno’s September 2026 proposal for elections on July 24, 2027—echoed by María Corina Machado’s Vente Venezuela party—has gained traction as a symbolic target tied to Simón Bolívar’s birthday, reflecting external pressure from the Trump administration for a democratic transition. These talks build on earlier agreements to begin joint work in August 2026, though no official call or timeline has been issued, leaving the exact scheduling dependent on completing electoral safeguards and political pacts.
