Preliminary vote counts from Russia's September 18–20 State Duma election place the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) in third position on the party-list vote with roughly 8.8 percent support, ahead of New People at about 7.9 percent. LDPR draws on its long-standing nationalist platform, regional structures, and continuity under leader Leonid Slutsky, which have sustained mid-single-digit to low-double-digit results in prior cycles. New People, a newer pro-business entrant, has shown polling volatility but trails in the current tally. United Russia leads comfortably while the Communist Party holds second. With over 80 percent of protocols processed and a clear margin, LDPR's position for third appears firm unless remaining counts or single-mandate adjustments produce an unexpected reversal.
