Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon have focused on consolidating control of a border security zone and targeting Hezbollah positions, including the recent capture of the Ali al-Taher ridge near Nabatieh. Ground forces have conducted incursions and demolitions in villages within the Tyre district, such as Al Mansouri, while airstrikes struck Tyre itself in June amid evacuation orders. A U.S.-brokered ceasefire announced that month has faced repeated violations, with ongoing strikes and limited expansions beyond self-declared lines. Lebanese officials have condemned the actions, and regional mediation efforts continue amid broader tensions involving Iran. These developments shape trader views on the likelihood and timing of any deeper advance into Tyre proper.
